Men in kilts

The room was heady with the smell of peat.

There were men in kilts! All that was missing was the bagpipes.

The tables were set with 200 glasses of whisky – and that was just the first round of Glenmorangie – five whiskys tasted in that round, then to be followed by three of Ardbeg’s finest!

The scene was set for a fabulous night and 40 guests enjoyed a night of drinking, eating and tall tales of whisky production from David Cross of Moet Hennessey.

The best food match of the evening was the smoky flavoured risotto with chestnut pecorino to the Glenmorangie La Santa closely followed by the spiced quince with the Ardbeg 10YO.

Tognini's Whisky night was a huge success. Definitely on the winter calendar of events for next year – stay tuned.
