What comes to mind when you think of a cheesecake? Maybe New York baked or lemon.  Well how about this ... a cake made entirely of cheese!  Each layer is a different type of cheese that is crafted into a gorgeous tower.

The Tognini’s team has noticed this trend over the past 12 months, making a number of cheese cakes for different events, parties & weddings.  We think this is such a wonderful, impressive and delicious idea!

If you are after something a little different for your wedding or special event then why not try a cheesecake.  You can choose the types of cheese (tasting of course is part of the fun!) and we put it together, served with delicious figs, quince paste, crackers and other accompaniments of your choice.

According to the ever wise wikipedia Mother's Day is  'a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society' other words, a day to spoil your mum and show her that you love her. 

This Sunday celebrate how special your mum is with a beautiful Mothers Day breakfast or lunch! We are open at Milton + Spring Hill from 7am - 3pm.

The Tognini's team really love their Mum's and want to make 2013 extra special! We put our heads together and came up with two fabulous menu specials, one for breakfast & the other for lunch. Delicious blueberry + ricotta pancakes & a tasty warm lamb salad.

Hot-Cross Buns + Cheese Boxes!

Boozy Buns

Nothing says Easter like a warm Hot-Cross bun smeared with your favorite spread or butter. This Easter we are spicing up our hot-cross buns with Narelle’s boozy dried fruit mix that was such a hit in our fruit mince pies.

Come in and try our made to order Hot-Cross buns before you buy. On the two Saturdays before Easter  (16th  +  23rd of March) pop in to our Milton Café Deli or Spring Hill Trattoria to taste these hand made buns and place your order.  Orders will be ready to collect Thursday 28th.

Easter Cheese Box

Chocolate is not everybody’s first choice….that is why Cheese was invented! Back and better then last year our Easter cheese boxes are a guaranteed hit for your Easter celebrations.  

This year we have hand picked three cheesealicious options:

French featuring Le Rustique Camembert – A traditional creamy Camembert from Normandie that has a lingering richness on your palate. 

Irish starring Crozler Blue – The Grubb family’s very special creamy Blue that packs a punch. Produced on their farm in county Tipperary.

English spotlighting Quickes English Cheddar – This farmhouse cheddar is traditionally made and cloth wrapped.  This quality cheddar speaks for itself with a rich creamy mouth feel and lingering flavor. One of the best!

Each cheese box includes Tognini’s whole meal thins and quince paste, Willbrand saffron pears & a chocolate Easter treat.

A Cupcake Story

Cupcakes have been on the rise of popularity for the past few years, inspired by scenes from Sex in the City of Magnolia’s bakery in New York. Magnolia’s original cupcake recipe was a perfect vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream icing tinted pink, nicknamed the ‘Barbie cake’. Now, although we are not in New York, the obsession spread fast.

6 years ago a friend of a friend popped into our store at Milton and said “Mark, I have this friend of ours who makes the best cupcakes around”. Naturally, being the sweet tooth that he is Mark said... “Great, tell her to bring some down for me to try”, and this is where it all began. The following day, arrived a gorgeous woman who goes by the name Aleta, mother of two with an incredible talent in the kitchen. Her love and passion for baking keeps her busy, and by busy I mean while being a mother of two, she is awake throughout the night preparing her cupcakes for morning deliveries. Aleta’s cupcakes are a baby vanilla cupcake with a light butter cream icing in various pastel shades. 

 In the words of Narelle, these little masterpieces are perfect for every occasion, well loved by all from our little pink tutu ballerina’s at Milton to football stars with their coffee in the afternoon, birthday parties and special occasions or afternoon treats.

This Valentine’s Day Aleta will be busy preparing some extra special Valentine’s Day cupcakes. These dreamy bite size treats are made especially for Valentine’s Day with Belgium chocolate and a rich chocolate icing with a red heart on top. They will be for sale individually or in boxes of 4 or 9. Place your order by February 12th; you will not want to miss out.

Australia Day Picnic Hampers

January 26th - Celebrate our wonderful country with a delicious picnic hamper. Select from your favorite Tognini’s home made salads and perhaps match it with a delicious cheese. Even chat to one of our helpful team members and we can put together a ploughman’s hamper with great cold cuts and cured meats. The options are endless for your perfect Aussie picnic.

Valentines Day Cupcakes

February 14th -  Be the best Valentine for your loved one or surprise your friends or work mates with our very special delicious Belgium chocolate miniature cupcakes. Each cupcake is hand made locally with love by the very talented Aleta. We have a special promotion for packs of nine or four available for order... careful they do not last long! 

Battle of the Cheeses.

With the success of last years battle Tognini’s is thrilled to announce ROUND TWO.  Hosted by Mark this hands ( & more importantly mouth on) cheese appreciation night will compare cheeses from two fine cheese-producing countries. Tell your friends and be sure to mark Wednesday evening the 13th March on your calendar. Stay tuned for more information. We will see you on the front lines!

Christmas Pudding

The puddings are ready and just waiting for a home! 

At the Tognini's family christmas nothing is more highly anticipated then the Christmas pudding. Seriously. You know it is pudding time when you can smell the fruits cooking away in the pot, next  we pour warm Grand Mariner and set the pudd alight. Keep the kiddies away from the potential fire hazard and have the sober adult in charge of the pudding!

Each pudding is handmade with love by Narelle who spends hours prepping everything for your Christmas pudding. The pudding is truly delicious and will be a huge hit at any Christmas event. 

Best served with Tognini's vanilla bean anglaise and a generous scoop of ice cream. Yum.
